Weel 67

I don’t have a lot of time because we just got back from the temple, but so much has happened this week so let me spill before I run out of time.

*Piñata Party=HUGE success.
We had 22 investigators 64 people.
Everyone made maracas.
Everyone clapped while we took turns hitting the piñata.
Everyone ate candy.
President Bishop came and gave an incredible spiritual message about families and we saw a miracle! A member brought her 80 yr old mom, and at the end of the message she wanted to get baptized. She had investigated the church 8 years ago, but the sisters who were teaching her were too boring and so she lost interest. Good thing Sis Busath has enough spunk to entertain her all the way to baptism. She’s adorable. I’ll upload a picture.

*Larva on your food isn’t considered gourmet when you find it as a missionary all over your kitchen.
We may or may not have a cockroach infestation. We called the office elders, they all got a kick out of it, and told us to take pictures. They called pest control, and by the time we came home our apartment it was filled with a light smog from the spray and we hundred of dead insect friend on the floor. Sick! Sick! Sick!

*Meet Melinda.
She is a referral. I met her at a the night we took the new missionaries our proselyte. She was really interested in English. Came to English class, and became really interested in the Gospel. The Taiping sisters gave her a Book of Mormon and by the time we met with her she had read a bit. We had a beautiful time getting to know her, and teaching her about prayer. We asked her to say the closing prayer. It was so sincere and simple. " Heavenly Father. Hello it is Melinda. Thank you for protecting me since I was a baby, and thank you that I am still living. I have a question for you. What is my purpose in this life? What must I do in order to know how to do it well? Jesus Christ Amen" It is my favorite prayer I have ever heard on my mission. She is a wonderful mom of three. She is getting baptized soonish.

*Meet Ting Hui.
Another referral. She called the her neighbor Christians so she could get baptized. She wants to know EVERYTHING. She is so hungry, and cant get enough. We met her last night and gave her all the lesson pamphlets. I just asked my companion if she thought that she had read them. She actually just called to tell me she read all of them, including some parts in the Book of Mormon and that she was feeling really happy.

*Fast for Families
President had us fast so we could find families to teach. Sis Busath and I just happened to be at the right place at the right time, because a family of 5 from Tanzi came up the church and told us that they wanted to know more about how they could join our church. No joke. It was a miracle. :) We gave them Book of Mormons, taught them how to pray, sent them on their way, and are giving them to the Elders in that area.

*I have the spirit of Elijah.
For companionship study this week we did some family history stuff. Did you know that one of our lines can be traced back to Father Adam and Mother Eve. Super RAD. Also I cant remember if I told you but Michelle one of my recent converts who got baptized a couple months ago went to the temple with her 4 of her family names last week. SO COOL!

I love doing this whole mission thing. Its super cool. Not only is it a blast, but its so rewarding. I feel really lucky.

Until next week.

xoxo

Love Sis Lee
