Week 76 - One Week Left!

 SURPRISE!
Sister Hancock got permission to come and see me before I went home. I love her...she is so awesome!

I feel like my emails home are sooo super lame. I am going to come home and tell you stories and you are going to feel like it’s a totally different mission. I can’t wait to tell you everything and show you pictures.

Ok…so about 2 months ago we were at the church and a family self contacted us. They were totally great, and asked if they could get baptized. Turns out they live in my old area Tanzi. I referred them to the Elders and they taught the family. I got a call on Saturday morning telling me that the Dad is getting baptized and I get to go! I was so excited. I prayed every day for a family while I was in that area, and I finally got one. It is so cool…I cried!

I am just going to be crying a lot this week!! haha It will be fun seeing everyone I love and saying good bye. I went and talked to the Liston’s last night and it was really great. They live on the 5th floor and they always bake treats for us. It was good talking to them about coming home.

I am really anxious and ready to come home, but then at times I just cry and cry that I have to be leaving my little world where I feel so comfortable and needed. I have a purpose here and I’m apart of something that is so important. I don’t think I am quite emotionally ready to detach, but then I don’t think you really ever are ready? I am so happy to be coming home! It was a great second to last week. It went by so fast because it was so much fun.

Missionary work is the best!

I will love every bit of the end! I am so happy right now. You will have an idea when I come home and you see it on my little Asian white face.

I love you guys. See you soon!!!!

Week 75

This is going to take forever to load all of these pictures so I will tell you about my last two weeks.

First off You Meng Ting is BAPTIZED! She is so solid. She has such an incredible ability to understand doctrine. She has such great prayers and that is why I am convinced she progressed so fast is because she learned everything on her own with the help of the spirit. The day of her baptism there was a crazy crazy lightening and thunderstorm that actually fried all of the office computers. ha It didn’t scare her though, she came to the church two hours early for her baptism. We had a great night. We went out to dinner with her and we all made a pack that September 2013 we would go to see the northern lights in Alaska. She is so great. She loves church because of all the friends she has met and is getting fellowshipped to death. Everyone loves her. Anyways. It was one of the highlights of my week last week. I just didn’t have time to tell you guys about it. ha

My little recent convert also came and went proselyting with us last Saturday. He is SOO cute. He was so brave and talked to everyone. We taught this less active Guo Jeimei and she loved him. She hasn’t been to church for a month or more and she totally came last Sunday. It was cool. He came and went proselyting with us this last weekend too. He is adorable.

This week we saw a lot of miracles. We didn’t have any investigators last week, and now we have enough to stay busy. It’s crazy the ebb and flow of the work. Rei Xiu. The cute little recent convert missionary came with to be missionaries. Anyways his mom is way interested and we are both really excited to start teaching her.

We are meeting with the Bishop to talk activities. I am so excited. Do you know how long I have been waiting for this invitation? he he Sometimes you just have to be patient, and things all work out. I feel like my work is almost done in this area. He taught a great lesson about the importance of having friends in the ward, and so after church I just talked to him about the importance of ward activities and how it brings unity and an opportunity to meet new friends. Anyways... I’m excited.

The RSP is a doll face. Melody our last week baptism already has visiting teachers. So cool!!

I had my first break down this last Thursday... I had just gone to dinner with Sara, and was so happy. After dinner we talked to her about eternal marriage, and her future lds family. I was so happy, after she left for institute I had a 10 min breakdown in the bathroom and just realized that cool moments like that are coming to and end quickly for me here in Taiwan. It just makes me sad sometimes.

Today we went to Sara’s work and she did our hair for us. It’s my companions birthday on Wednesday and so we started her birthday week celebration. We went shopping and out to eat at the Modern Toilet. It was a pretty fun day. :)

I love you guys... I can’t wait to see you all. I still feel like I have forever left, but whateva. haha

xoxox

See you soon. I hope you like all the pictures!

Week - 74

Bahh!! I am coming home!! I TOTALLY feel like I have three more months on my mission. I seriously feel like its forever away. I still have three weeks. There is a lot that could be done in three weeks. We still have a lot of work to do in our area.

But then every once in a while my companion will say stuff like: "Well now you only have 2 more P-day’s left." I kinda freak out. Ha

Just so you know…I am leaving everything I have worn out and wont use. It’s weird that I literally have nothing to my name? It’s not a fun feeling. haha
Any last requests for things from Taiwan?

I LOVE YOU, and am SO grateful for all the love and support I have gotten on my mission. I would not have been able to do it without you... Seriously!

Love you,
Sister Lee

Week 73

My favorite treat! Its squishy and so stinken good....
You guys will all have a chance to eat it.

This is the little sign leading up to the little village we went hiking to.

Me and Sara. We have the same t-shirt. Bah.
She picked it out? :)

Sara was way excited to bring bubbles.
We blew them and took a lot of really fun pictures.

I am really happy!
Today my recent convert came and spent the whole day with us. She is so stinken cute... She is behind me on another computer just messing around waiting so we can play after email. I love her. I can’t wait to tell you more about her story when I get home.

I only have about a month left, but it feels so far away? I went up to the Liston’s house last night and talked to them for a while. It was a lot of fun, and even though we talked about home it still didn’t feel like it was close at all.
I am playing with Sara and so I don’t have a lot to time to write, but I hoped you like my pictures...

We had a great week finding former members and seeing success.

We also had some cute Young Women with us for a day, and it was a blast being able to go do some missionary work with them.

We also had a nail painting party that was a blast, and it was so great seeing Recent Converts and Investigators there.

I love you all!! Thanks for your prayers.

Love You!

Week 72

I spend so much time at this place. It my favorite store in Taiwan. I took pictures so you could see it. We call phones, eat, meet new friends, use the ATM, and buy stamps here. It’s everything you could want and more. It’s just around the corner of the church.

I don’t know what to tell you other then my favorite parts of my week.

Monday- I got to see my investigators and missionary friends. Oh the blessing of living in the mission home area! It was such a fun day!! We ran around tracking down less actives, and everyone we bumped into was either looking for us, or we were looking for them.

Tuesday-Even though are recent convert was ridiculously busy she still managed to find time to come to the church to surprise us with some treats to say thank you for helping her get baptized.

Wednesday-English class was a blast not only because I we played games but friends ages 9 to 60 all participated in the animal game. I was dying. They were all so cute, and so brave. I was a proud teacher.

Thursday- A handful of members from China came to tour the church! It was their first chapel they had ever seen. It was incredible to see their faces as they looked around. It made me so grateful to be in Taiwan serving a mission. I can’t wait until China opens.

Friday-We went on our less active hunt again, and we couldn’t find anyone, so we decided to tract near by. We came to a street said a prayer, and both my companion and I agreed to turn right and start on the right side of the street. We started at the top and went all the way down the bottom with no success. As we were walking back to our bikes the house we had parked in front of had a family just get home. As we started talking to the Mom we found out that she had contacted the missionaries last year, and recognized that us meeting her that night was a sign that she needed to start meeting with us. It was the very last house of the night. :)

Saturday- We went out to lunch with our Recent Convert and his mom. Our other Recent Convert came back from Taibei so we could meet with her, and another one of our RC missed us so she came to the church and put off her plans so she could spend the night with us at the baptism. Our incredible investigator came to a baptism as well, and loved it. She is way excited for her own baptism in a couple of weeks.

Sunday-We visited the Liston’s at dinner and had a great talk with them. They are incredible. Melody also came to church and we had an incredible lesson with her afterwards. My little RC sat next to me in sacrament and I gave him a coloring Paige of Nephi building a boat. He drew me a picture of my self, and my nose took up half of my face. He wanted to wear my CTR ring during church, and so I wore his. I really likes it. I am giving it to him before I leave.

I love you guys.
Have a great week.

Sister Smith, Sister Lee and Sister Busath.
We have all been trained by Sister Jessica Lew.

We had a 4-some this weekend. It was crazy, but a lot of fun.... We were doing companionship study in our room watching the DVDs as part of
Sister Pengs 12 week program.

I love you guys, But I am SO sick of emailing. haha

Its really a weird feeling...

Let me give you the short and sweet version of my week.

Find Find Find
Party Party Party
Sing Sing Sing
Work Work Work
Call Call Call

That seriously was about it?

Tiffany was confirmed in church this sunday and gave an awesome testimony about how much she loves the church.

We were in a 4 some for three days and even though it was crazy it was the best. The bigger the better.

We had an incrediable stake musical fireside!! We had a couple of new converts there and they had a blast. It was so so well done! We were really impressed. There was about 20 missionaries who sang, and it was a lot of fun playing with friends.

Ok that's all for now!!

Love You alll

Week 70

Zone Leaders: Elder Badager, and Elder Hermensen

Taiping Sister and the Beiqu Sisters

Tiffany and I :)

Tuesday-We had Sister Exchanges. Sister Mitchell my little Australian friend came and spent the day with me in Beiqu. She is currently serving in Tanzi and so it was good hearing how my old area was doing. It was rainy, but we still had a great day. We went contacting all night long, and not until we were at the very last stoplight before home did we find someone who was willing to set up a time. :)

Wednesday- I don’t remember anything besides May bringing her pictures to English class. She is one of the grooviest people I have ever met. She is one of our long time English students and is such an adventurer. She is a secret photographer meaning that she refuses to admit it, but has the most incredible talent for it. She loves to go hiking and so she brought all of her scenery pictures from when she went hiking in Pakistan. They were breathtaking. She could have made a calendar. She had taken the pictures with a film camera back in 1997. It was so impressive. We just oowed and awwed over them after English. (She also loved to braid hair and so she specially brought her hair braiding pictures for me. She is a doll.)

Thursday- A typhoon was supposed to hit. It was raining really really hard, and the wind was blowing, but nothing too exciting. We had Tony's (my recent convert) Mom call us and told us to stay inside. It was so cute. She calls and checks up on us all the time. We met June. She is one of Sara’s (my recent convert) coworkers. She is really interested in the Gospel because she has a bad temper that she wasn’t to control. We met with her later this week, and she had been reading and praying. It was already so incredible so see how much she has changed in just a couple of days. She was way more relaxed and happy, and calm. The church is true.

Friday-Zone scramble. We went on exchanges within our zone and it was a blast. (We also had weekly planning and a leadership training meeting) We went to a busy shopping market and did another "Dan Jones". A group of 20 us went and just started power preaching power teaching. I saw two cool miracles from it. Sister Liston was my companion. She is an adorable red head.

#1 A self contact.
She approached us and asked what kind of activity we had going on. We told her we wanted to let know people about our church so they could be happy for the rest of eternity. She sat down, and wanted to learn more. We set up and time, said a prayer and she said that she had been looking for a church and wanted to learn more.

#2 A self contact.
She came to church this Sunday with 20 juice boxes. She said that an Elder invited her to come to church and so here she was. She also wanted to learn more, and was interested on how she could join the church. We gave her a Book a Mormon and set up a time to meet with her later in the week.

Saturday-Olive came to visit me. I really love her. She is my favorite member from Tanzi. She came with gifts and good news. It was really good seeing her. It was also Dragon Boat festival, and about everyone I talked to asked me if I had eaten a zhongzi. (Its like an Asian tamale).

Sunday- Tiffany was baptized this week!! She was a referral from the Taiping Sisters. She had moved into our area by the time she was ready to get baptized and so Sister Busath and I got to finish teaching her and help her get ready for her big day. She is really great. Super strong testimony of personal revelation, and has incredible amounts of faith. She has lived in Australia for about 7 years and so we teach her in English. She is so expressive, and sincere when it comes to her prayers. It was Sister Busath’s and I first baptism together.

Her Mom came to the service and had a great time. It was her first time coming to a church, and she really felt the spirit. We were really grateful that she was willing to support her. I have a feeling that Tiffany will have a huge impact on her family. Not only will it totally bless her life, but will effect generations to come. :)

It was a good week. We met new investigators. Bumped into formers on the street. Sat down with New people. Got to go on Exchanges twice, and was really happy all the time.

I like being a missionary. The church is true.
