Her First Week!

Hi!!!

Ok first of all. Mom, you are not annoying and you can send me a dearsister email everyday! I loved hearing from you this week, and I loved how you told a little bit about each person. We print our emails off in the morning, and read them at breakfast, so you can write me a big long email, and it won’t eat into my time at all. (the big red clock at the top corner of the screen is stressing me out!!) Anyways!

I LOVE THE MTC!
I feel so blessed, and I haven’t been sad since I have gotten here... I really like my district, and my companion! Her name is Sister Lethco and she is from Sacramento. She has a cute boyfriend who is a firefighter, and she plays the saxaphone and is a rower. Such a cool chick, and we get along great! My district has four sisters and two elders, I sent home a picture, so you will get to see who they are soon. :) (Next week I will upload pictures.)

Ok first day was so cool. I said goodbye to the fam, got dropped off at the curb, and then a "host" sister took me to my room. I was the first sister there, and so I got to choose my bed, which was nice. I then got my tags, checked in and then went to my classroom. We were taken into a little room to watch a video on the MTC, but as soon as we were there our teachers started speaking in only Chinese! Chinese is Voldermort. I haven’t had one full class in English yet. Why you might ask? I am part of the new Pilot group. It’s basically like a new curriculum that the language department is trying out. We have had a board member in at least one of our classes per day, and at the end of our lesson they ask us all sorts of questions like: was that lesson helpful, how did you feel about class today, what could have gone better? Just stuff like that. At times it’s really stressful, and overwhelming, but “the language that should not be named” is "fawn," (fun) and I secretly like it. :) I have already learned how to speak some phrases from the first lesson, bear my testimony, and pray in zhongwen. Can you believe it? This pilot program is going to stretch my guts out... I can do hard things.

I know it’s only been a couple of days, but they have already started blending together. I know that the first night, we had this cool "fake" investigator presentation. There were about 35 missionaries in a room, and we got to help teach a lesson - kinda. We also got to hear from the MTC presidency and that was really cool. Umm… I taught a lesson in Chinese my second morning I was here. It was nuts, but it was good practice. Gym time everyday is super fun. My whole zone plays four-square and it’s awesome! I’m getting better :) I got to watch Legacy after a really cool devotional by someone in the MTC presidency last night. (Legacy was the funniest church movie I have ever seen when you watch it with hundreds of silly missionaries.) Anyways the devotional, it was on music, and were like a 2000 missionary choir that sung "Called to Serve” and “Army of Helaman." Mom you would have been balling your eyes out with me. We took a temple walk yesterday around the temple and took some pictures.

Ohmygoodness, I am almost out of time!

I am excited to start making you tapes, because it will save my life! I will get to tell you way more detail, about how cool this place is.

I love you all very much, and I am so grateful to have such an awesome fan club. Please keep me in the loop and let me know what is going on.

Fun Facts:
• I saw papa at the temple today, and cried I was so happy.
• I have bumped into Molly Castle, Patrick Taylor, Taylor Hooker, and Mike Juelch. It’s great seeing them. :)
• I have slept like a baby without my memory foam. I don’t know how that’s even possible.

Mom I have worn my retainer and slept with my pillow every night. You should be proud.
Ok. I LOVE YOU!!!! Write me letters early in the mornings so I can get them and write you guys back.

Saying Goodbye

We took Camille to the airport early Wednesday morning. It was a very bitter-sweet moment. We are all going to miss her so much but we are super happy that she is going on her mission to Taiwan.

The Call!

I got my mission call, and I am going to the Taichung, Taiwan mission. Can you believe it? Yeah, me either.

So opening my mission call makes the: "Top 5 favorite things I have ever done in my life" list. I wanted to cry, and laugh, and pass out, and pee my pants, and throw up, and scream all at the same time. It was so great.

My mother had out done herself and decorated the whole house. We had a guess map, badge cake, luggage balloons, and happy streamers to celebrate.

My Grandma and Uncle Rob drove down from Utah just to be there. My Grandma has passed away since then, and so having her be there was the most special part.
